  2. Upcoming February update to the platforms program policies

    The Ads platforms program policies will change on February 16, 2025. The changes reflect advances in privacy-enhancing technologies (such as on-device processing, Trusted Execution Environments, and secure multi-party computation) and the broader range of surfaces on which ads are served (such as Connected TVs and gaming consoles). They clarify the activities that we prohibit to better protect the ads ecosystem from harmful activities, while being less prescriptive with partners in how they target and measure ads.   3. Upcoming February update to the Personalized Ads policy

    The platforms program policies will change in February 2024. Google will update its personalized ads policy to introduce new limitations on personalized ads relating to consumer financial products and services. Specifically, Google’s "Credit in personalized ads" policy will be expanded to cover "Consumer finance in personalized ads."   4. Upcoming April update to Platforms program policies for Japan's Amended APPI legislation

    In June 2020, the Japanese government introduced a set of amendments to the existing Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). The Amended APPI will come into force on April 1, 2022. The Amended APPI, amongst other things, includes rules relating to the processing of “personal referable information” (“PRI”) of Japanese users.   5. Upcoming October update to personalized advertising for housing, employment, and credit

    The week of October 19, 2020, Google will update its Platforms policies for Personalized advertising to introduce new targeting restrictions.
